This amazing delicious, incredibly versatile winter green smoothie recipe uses pears, apples and bananas, and works amazingly well with every leafy green I’ve thrown at it. So far I’ve tried spinach, chard/silverbeet, arugula/roquette, kale, bok choy, chicory, collards and chinese broccoli. Amazing.
As I've gone through my raw food journey, I've come to realise that kale is actually one of the best leafy green vegetables you could ever eat. And I've discovered three amazing ways to eat heaps of kale, and really enjoy it.
This would have to be my favourite green smoothie of all time. Which is weird, because kale can taste pretty horrible in smoothies, especially if you have my knack for odd flavour combinations. Not only does the kale taste good in this smoothie, but it tastes so awesome that it's my favourite green smoothie ever.
Even though I haven't drunk coffee for over 10 years, I swear this juice tastes just like a mug of sweet coffee. The earthiness of the carrots, combined with the sweet of the apples, the salty of the celery and the bitterness of the kale create a flavoursome, comforting way to start your morning. And there's no side-effects. Except an awesome buzz.
