Ho, ho, ho! Merry Vegan Christmas!
Christmas is almost upon us, so here’s a selection of my best vegan recipes that you can whip up for Christmas day, so you can eat as well (and as much) as everyone else!
Nothing says Christmas more than these gorgeous Watermelon Christmas Trees.
They’re super-quick to make, and they look so wonderfully Christmassy.
What better way to encourage everyone to eat more fresh fruit at Christmas than these?
You could also whip up a batch of my Healthy Oil-Free Popcorn, in under 15 minutes.
It’s quick. It’s tasty. And it’s 100% corn.
It also has the added advantage of looking like junk food, which can be useful if you’re trying to pretend to be less healthy.
The other great vegan snack for Christmas day is my Raw Almond Pulp Hummus.
Not only is it quick and easy to prepare, but it also uses up the leftover pulp from making almond milk, so it’s economical as well.
Just chop up some fresh veggies to go with it, and you’ve got a hearty snack that everyone can enjoy.
Even though Christmas is traditionally a day where you eat your own body weight in desserts, it’s always nice to have some savoury options as well.
These Raw Veggie Burgers are fairly quick to whip up – just chuck everything in the processor – and they’re packed full of fresh veggies.
If you wanted to, you could probably even warm them up gently on the barbecue or grill, if that’s the way your Christmas Day tends to go.
And even though my Vegan Sausage Rolls take a little more preparation, you can still whip up a batch in an afternoon, and they’re sure to be a big hit wherever you take them.
They look like regular sausage rolls, and they sure taste a lot like them too.
Just be sure to make a big batch to ensure there’s some left over for you.
If you’re looking for an amazing vegan salad to take to Christmas lunch (or dinner), you really can’t go past my Raw Taco Salad.
Delicious, decadent and filling, this raw vegan salad has been known to tempt the most ardent of meat-eaters to reconsider their position.
And if you want something a little less obviously “green” but still fabulously healthy, then you might want to whip up a batch of my High Raw Rice Salad.
It’s so satisfying, healthy and bursting with flavour that you’ll be proud to share it with your family and friends.
I think I have taken these Raw Coconut Macaroons to more parties than any of my other recipes.
They’re easy to make (the only fiddly part is shaping them into rounds) and they’re also nut-free, so they’re a safe option for almost anyone.
I tend to make a big batch, and then freeze them once they’re done, so I can pull out a plateful at a moment’s notice.
And these babies always get eaten, no matter where I take them. (Especially the chocolate ones.)
The other thing that always gets eaten is my Decadent Coconut Vanilla Ice Cream.
This dairy-free ice cream is always a big hit with the kids, and you can also make a chocolate version if you’d prefer.
My vegan ice cream is also super versatile – you can use it to dress up almost any dish to make it extra special – fruit salad, cake, or even a bowl of macaroons.
Another great way to dress up any dessert is my Raw Vegan Chocolate Sauce.
Everything tastes better with chocolate sauce, doesn’t it?
Both of these sauces are divinely decadent vegan ways to add that special something to your Christmas desserts.
If you’re looking for something light, yet tasty, to drink on Christmas Day, then I’d highly recommend my Raw Raspberry Cordial.
With neither raspberries, nor any cordial in sight, this refreshing drink is made from pure, fresh fruit and veggie juices, and yet it tastes (to my tastebuds anyway) just like raspberry cordial.
Or if you’re looking for something a little warmer to drink on Christmas Day, you really can’t go past my Raw Vegan Hot Chocolate.
It’s rich, it’s hearty, it’s sweet and it’s chocolately. What more could you want?
